If you have an interest in poetry or you are merely curious then you have come to the right place. My poetry book entitled "The Journey Home" has been launched and is obtainable in several formats. It's available to download and printed soft cover or hard cover versions.
This book contains a collection of 100 poems all written in the tradtional format, that of rhyme and time. Many of the poems are purely fictional but there are some based on true events. The poems are wrtten on a range of subject matters ie love and pets. My first to receive public acknowledgement is entitled "Time Is Not A Barrier" and this poem was read on BBC radio 2 during the week of Princess Diana's mourning in 1997. Several of the poems in this book have been published in poetry anthologies. It has taken severalyears to write, compile and bring this to publication.
The book cover has been designed in regards to my high school mascot with that being the Trojan, with the school colours being blue and white which are reflected in the book cover colouring. The title of the book "The Journey Home" is derived directly from a poem written and reflects a journey of experiences in poetic life format. The title is extremely appropriate as the journey has resulted in the completion and publication of this book. The poems are from my mind, to pen, to paper and finally to print again, another journey.
This book was launched to coincide with my Grandmothers 90th Birthday. I have dedicated this book to my Grandmother as a result of her being my Nan, for her having survived the London Blitz and for her being loved so dearly. I've deliberatedly timed the publication of this book to present it to my Nan as a very special birthday present in honor of her 90th Birthday.
Anyone who loves or enjoys poetry should appreciate the effort taken in keeping to traditional writing methods throughtout all of the poems and in the varied subject matters covered. If you have a love of poetry then this book should be a book worth having amongst a book case of books and prove to be of both interest and consolation.
Poetry is read by millions of people around the world each and every day. Poetry soothes the soul in times of sadness, woe, turmoil, despair, devestation, loneliness, or simply for mere pleaure. This book should touch your heart! It has taken me several years to compile this collection and remain with the proper format of poetry, that strictly of traditional. I do not write odes, prose or ballads as I love music and love the musical flow. To write continously in rhyme and time is hard work but with perservance and logical thinking it can be done. I have done it and give you this wonderful collection of 100 of my original poems.
